Direct-fit outer tie rod end engineered for 1994-2004 Ford Mustang vehicles. This steering linkage component secures the outer end of the tie rod to the steering knuckle, translating steering input into wheel movement while maintaining proper alignment and reducing play. Designed as a durable replacement for worn or damaged OE parts, it restores steering responsiveness, improves safety, and helps prevent uneven tire wear. Built for reliability and ease of installation, this part is ideal for restoration, maintenance, or performance refresh projects.
Features:
- Fits 1994-2004 Ford Mustang (outer tie rod end, right or left hand application).
- High-strength steel construction for long-lasting durability under road stress.
- Sealed ball joint design with corrosion-resistant coating to resist wear and elements.
- Restores precise steering control, reduces play and improves tire wear.
- Direct replacement for OE-style fitment — no modification required.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; suitable for DIY repairs and professional service.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, loosen lug nuts slightly and raise the front of the vehicle; support securely on jack stands.
- Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod end.
- Locate the outer tie rod end and remove the cotter pin (if present) and castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
- Measure and record the exposed thread length or count turns to preserve alignment; mark the position on the inner tie rod for reference.
- Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or pickle fork. If stuck, a sharp tap with a hammer may help free it.
- Unscrew the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod by backing it off the recorded number of turns. Remove the old part.
- Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the recorded position, or adjust to match the original length/mark.
- Install the tie rod end into the steering knuckle, tighten the castle nut to the manufacturer's torque specification and insert a new cotter pin if required.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque the lug nuts to spec, and perform a full steering alignment as soon as possible to ensure proper tire wear and handling.
