Adjusting sleeve designed for 1965–1974 Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac steering linkages. This right/left-hand threaded sleeve is used to connect and fine-tune tie rod or drag link assemblies, enabling accurate toe alignment while maintaining secure engagement under road loads. Built for restoration and maintenance projects, the sleeve provides reliable thread engagement, corrosion resistance, and long service life to keep classic steering systems safe and adjustable.
Features:
  • Fits 1965–1974 Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac models (right and left hand versions available).
  • Right- and left-hand threaded design allows precise toe adjustment in tie rod/drag link assemblies.
  • Durable steel construction with corrosion-resistant plating for long-lasting performance.
  • Restoration-ready replacement that restores proper steering adjustment and alignment capability.
  • Easy to install during steering rebuilds or suspension maintenance; helps prevent vibration and uneven tire wear.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands or lift
  • Wrenches and/or socket set
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Penetrating oil
  • Measuring tape or alignment tools
  • Thread locker (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Secure vehicle on level ground and lift the front end with jack stands or use a lift. Chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen the jam nut on the existing adjusting sleeve and apply penetrating oil to seized threads if necessary.
  3. Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or pickle fork. Remove the outer tie rod end from the sleeve.
  4. Unscrew and remove the old adjusting sleeve from the inner tie rod or drag link. Clean mating threads and inspect components for wear; replace any damaged parts.
  5. Thread the replacement adjusting sleeve onto the inner tie rod/drag link by hand. Use the correct right-hand or left-hand sleeve as required for the application.
  6. Install the outer tie rod end into the new sleeve and adjust length to approximate factory toe specification. Tighten the jam nut against the sleeve to lock the adjustment.
  7. Torque all fasteners to manufacturer specifications. Apply thread locker on jam nut threads if desired for extra security.
  8. Lower the vehicle and perform a professional wheel alignment to finalize toe and steering geometry.
