Premium outer tie rod end designed for 1997–2013 Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles. This non-greaseable outer tie rod end provides precise steering link connection, secure ball-joint seating, and reliable alignment control. Built for durability and consistent performance, it restores steering feel, reduces play, and helps maintain proper tire wear. Ideal for suspension repair or steering system restoration where a sealed, maintenance-free component is preferred.
Features:
  • Fitment: Fits 1997–2013 Cadillac and Chevrolet models (outer tie rod end, right or left hand — check vehicle-specific application before ordering).
  • Sealed, non-greaseable ball stud for maintenance-free operation and contamination resistance.
  • High-strength alloy construction and protective coating for corrosion resistance and long service life.
  • Restores steering precision, reduces play, and helps prevent uneven tire wear.
  • Direct-replacement design for easy installation without modification to factory steering geometry.
  • Includes castle nut and cotter pin or equivalent fasteners where required for secure installation.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Penetrating oil
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Adjustable wrench or socket set
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Tape measure or alignment gauges
  • Marker or paint pen
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift vehicle with jack, and support on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end and spray penetrating oil on the castle nut and threaded joint. Allow to penetrate.
  4. Measure distance (or count turns) between the inner and outer tie rod threads from a fixed reference and mark the current position on the inner tie rod to preserve alignment during installation.
  5. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Do not fully remove the nut yet.
  6. Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod end puller or a pickle fork. Once separated, remove the castle nut and unthread the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod, counting turns or matching the reference mark.
  7. Thread the replacement outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the same position or turn count as the removed unit to keep alignment close to factory specs.
  8. Insert the new tapered stud into the steering knuckle, tighten the castle nut to the manufacturer's torque specification, and secure with a new cotter pin.
  9. Reinstall the wheel, tighten lug nuts by hand, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
  10. After installation, have a professional alignment performed to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
