  • Greaseable design with serviceable zerk fitting for long-term lubrication
  • Hardened steel ball stud and housing for improved wear resistance
  • Corrosion-resistant finish to withstand road exposure and extend life
  • Precision-machined taper and threads for secure, noise-free fitment
  • Direct OE-style replacement ideal for restoration or routine maintenance
  • Reduces steering play and improves alignment stability and road feel
  • Easy installation with common mechanic tools; both right and left hand options
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Torque wrench
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Wrenches (open-end/box)
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Pliers
  • Hammer
  • Grease gun
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Measuring tape or alignment gauge
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and block rear wheels.
  2. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack, and support with jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle and clean the area to expose the castle nut and threads.
  4. Mark the position of the existing tie rod end on the inner tie rod or measure the distance from a fixed point to preserve alignment reference.
  5. Remove the cotter pin (if present) and loosen the castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle but do not fully remove yet.
  6. Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Remove the castle nut and withdraw the tie rod end.
  7. Unthread the tie rod end from the inner tie rod the number of turns noted or until the alignment mark is reached. Count turns if no mark was made.
  8. Thread the new greaseable outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the recorded position. Ensure right- or left-hand orientation is correct for the side being serviced.
  9. Insert the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle, tighten the castle nut to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque, and install a new cotter pin if applicable.
  10. Use a grease gun to lubricate the new fitting until fresh grease appears at the joint, then wipe away excess.
  11. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  12. Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
