Front lower ball joint for 1984-1996 Chevrolet Corvette, designed to replace worn or damaged factory units and restore precise steering and suspension geometry. This heavy-duty lower ball joint secures the control arm to the steering knuckle, maintaining proper alignment, reducing play, and improving handling and tire life. Constructed for durability and reliable performance under road and track conditions, it’s an ideal choice for maintenance, restoration, or performance upgrades.
Features:
  • Fitment: 1984-1996 Chevrolet Corvette (front lower, right or left hand).
  • High-strength forged steel construction for long-term durability and load resistance.
  • Protective corrosion-resistant finish to extend service life in harsh environments.
  • Sealed, pre-lubricated design to provide smooth articulation and reduce maintenance.
  • Direct-fit replacement for factory ball joints to restore steering precision and reduce vibration.
  • Designed to meet or exceed OEM load and wear specifications — ideal for restoration or performance use.
  • Easy-to-install form factor that works with existing control arm and knuckle hardware.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1.5-3 hours per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Hydraulic jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Socket and ratchet set
  • Torque wrench
  • Ball joint press or C-clamp press
  • Breaker bar
  • Hammer and punch
  • Pry bar
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Penetrating oil
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level surface, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels. Loosen front lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Spray penetrating oil on ball joint fasteners and allow to soak. Remove cotter pin (if equipped) and loosen the castellated nut on the ball joint stud.
  4. Separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or by striking the knuckle (use caution).
  5. Unbolt the lower control arm-to-frame fasteners as required to access and remove the old ball joint. Support the control arm to prevent sudden drop.
  6. Use a ball joint press to press out the old ball joint from the control arm. Clean the bore and inspect the control arm for damage or wear.
  7. Press the new ball joint into the control arm bore using the ball joint press. Ensure it is fully seated and oriented correctly for right or left side.
  8. Reinstall the control arm and torque all fasteners to factory specifications. Reattach the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle and tighten the nut to spec; install a new cotter pin if required.
  9. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to spec. Perform a test drive and check for proper steering and suspension operation.
  10. Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure correct toe and camber settings and to prevent premature tire wear.
